this is Misra
Our story

The idea for Misra began in early 2024, sparked by a period of self-reflection when I had the chance to step away from my job for a while. I took the time to journal, ask myself bigger questions, and turn inward. This journey brought a new level of clarity—but also a relentless curiosity for self-exploration. At the same time, I was coming across examples throughout history of philosophers, artists, writers, and poets from around the world — from Plato, to Lao Tzu, to Bulleh Shah — have wrestled with life’s deepest questions, offering wisdom that remains as relevant as ever. I wanted to find a way to bring that wisdom into our daily lives in a meaningful, accessible way. I was also just tired of brands not taking their responsiblity to people and the planet seriously. So much plastic has become a norm in everything around us — even the clothes that touch our skin every day. And too much effort is dedicated to only driving profits.
That’s where Misra’s journey began. And while we’re only at the very start, we’re beyond excited for everything that’s ahead. See you on the inside!

Our vision
Why we exist
We want to live in a world where every individual feels empowered to harness their gifts in service of collective growth.
That's why we want to empower everyone to connect with a sense of purpose, service, and contribution.
There is immense wisdom to be found in reflecting on the knowledge passed down through many generations in the forms of art, stories, literature and philosophical concepts - we want to make that accessible and bring it top of mind through everyday items.
We also wanted to create a brand that doesn't compromise the planet while creating good quality products, and at reasonable prices.

Our mission
What we do
We create sustainably produced apparel, homeware and stationary inspired by ancient wisdom, philosophy, and poetry, to create daily reminders for us to reflect and go within.
Our name comes from Urdu, where a "Misra" is a line or couplet in a poem, with each misra conveying a particular thought, emotion or an idea. Our hope is that each of our products can be a conduit to share ideas and inspiration that help you connect with yourself, reflect on your life, and grow as a human.

Our approach
How we do it
The world doesn't need just another brand. We take our responsibility seriously and operate through a few core principles through which we aim to create a positive impact:
Natural materials
We only use natural and recycled materials across our supply chain.
Circular model
When our apparel is getting to the end of it's life, we give them a new beginning through our recycling partner.
Giving for good
We give 5% of the revenue we make on each product towards charitable causes.
Transparency
We provide product carboon footprint and pricing transparency to help you as a consumer make informed decisions.
